Support
A few things to consider in support of Solace for the Children.
1. With about 50,000 citizens per physician in Afghanistan most children have little or no opportunity to receive even basic health care. No systems are in place to support even the smallest need. Solace for the Children is the only organization which brings groups of children out of Afghanistan into a safe nurturing environment which allows for renewed health and hope. We must have financial support to make this happen! Please consider Solace for the Children for your donation! http://www.solaceforthechildren.org/get_involved_donate.html
2. Healthy children are more able to learn. After helping a child with health issues, Solace partners with the SOLA organization- Students of Leadership, Afghanistan. SOLA helps us to place healthy Solace children in schools. Some are in Afghanistan, others come to America for one year of high school. Do you have contacts at a high school who might consider a partnership with us to sponsor an Afghan youth for one year of high school? Contact project coordinator, Patsy Wilson - patsywilson@windstream.net or 704-657-2374.
3. The Afghan focus began in 2006. Solace was successful in bringing 7 Afghan youth to the U.S. in 2007. This increased to 21 children in 2008 and so far in 2009, 40 Afghan young people have been treated by doctors and dentists. These numbers must continue to increase. To make a substantial difference we need communities across the country to get involved! Solace for the Children is based in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina. The first Solace Branch was formed in Jacksonville, Florida. Will your community support the next Solace Branch and host 7 to 10 Afghan children between the ages of 7 to 12?

4. Gently used Laptops and digital cameras would be put to very good use in Afghanistan. They are important tool of education and in the process of identifying children for participation in Solace for the Children! Contact us at patsywilson@windstream.net to donate items.
Please join us in building peace on a foundation of health!
